August 31, 2008 Working Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Johnson St. Engine 3 went on location reporting fire showing in the rear step down of a large 2 1/2 story frame. The fire was under control in about 16 minutes. Dispatch ATV Accident / Serious Injuries: Cattaragus Indian Reservation Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a ATV accident on Route 438. Command went on location reporting an ATV into a house with. Command reported 1 minor patient with serious injuries and requested mutual aid from Lake Erie Beach for ALS. Working Fire: City of Tonawanda Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire on East Niagara St. Command went on location reporting a working fire in a unattached garage. Mutual aid was provided by Grand Island (Engine) & Brighton (FAST). Dispatch (partial dispatch of Brighton & Grand Island) August 29, 2008 2 Alarm Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Herman St. B-43 reported a working fire enroute. Engine 3 went on location reporting 3 2 1/2 structures involved & B-43 requested the 2nd alarm to the scene. B-56 ordered defensive operations. One firefighter suffered a back injury and was transported to an area hospital. The fire was under control in about 46 minutes. Command went on location with a rollover MVA and people trapped and requested mutual aid from Farnham & Brant for extrication. Also requested was Lake Erie Beach & Evans Center for ALS. The victims were extricated in about 25 minutes. Dispatch Working Fire: Depew Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Transit Rd. Depew 9 went on location reporting a working basement fire in a multi-family dwelling. The fire was under control in about 43 minutes. Working Fire: Patchin Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Valley View Ln. North Boston 9-2 went on location reporting a working fire in a 1 story wood frame dwelling. Mutual Aid companies were North Boston (Engine), Boston (Engine), Boston Emergency Squad, Colden (Fill-in at Patchin), & Hamburg (Fill-in at North Boston). Dispatch MVA / People Trapped: Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of a MVA at William St & Smith St. Engine 3 went on location reporting a 1 car rollover MVA with 2 victims trapped and requested Rescue 1 for extrication. Both victims were extricated in about 30 minutes. Dispatch August 27, 2008 2 Alarm Fire: Forks Firefighters responded last night for a report of a roof fire on Union Rd at Cheektowaga Central High School. Forks 9 went on location reporting smoke showing and a working roof fire. Dispatch Double Fatal MVA: Vigilant Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a MVA on Main St. Vigilant 9-2 went on location with a car vs tree MVA 2 patients & requested Mercy Flight, 2 Ambulances, & East Seneca's Medic Unit to the scene. Vigilant 9-1 reported 2 trauma codes. Both victims were extricated in about 15 minutes. Both victims were pronounced at a local hospital. Dispatch 2 Alarm Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on 15th St. Engine 37 went on location reporting a vacant 2 1/2 story going good with an exposure problem on the #2 side and requested additional equipment bringing Engine 21 & Ladder 13 to the scene. B-44 went on location reporting 2 2 1/2 story frames involved. B-56 requested the balance of the 2nd alarm to the scene. B-44 ordered an emergency evacuation for a partial collapse on the #4 side. B-56 requested an additional Engine (3) to the scene for water relay & B-43 reported the #2 exposure involved as well. The fire was under control in about 63 minutes. Brighton 9 recieved a report enroute that Police were on location reporting fire and smoke showing from the roof of an occupied structure and requested a FAST team to the scene. August 15, 2008 2 Alarm Fire: On August 13th Lackawanna Firefighters responded to a telephone alarm of fire on Olcott St. Command went on location reporting a working fire in a multiple family dwelling and requested a 2nd alarm. Working Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning to investigate smoke on Navel St. Engine 31 went on location reporting smoke showing from the eaves of a 1 1/2 story dwelling and requested the balance of the 1st alarm. B-43 reported fire on the 1st floor. The fire was under control in about 17 minutes. August 12, 2008 Level 1 Hazmat: Buffalo Firefighters responded this afternoon to a report of a Hazmat situation on Donaldson St. B-44 went on location reporting chemicals in the building and requested the upgrade to a Level 1 Hazmat response. The incident was under control in about 60 minutes. Pedestrian Struck: Grand Island Firefighters responded today for a report of a pedestrian struck on Baseline Rd. Command went on location reporting 1 victim with serious injuries and requested Mercy Flight to the scene. Kitchen Fire: South Line Firefighters responded late last night for a report of a kitchen fire on French Rd at French's Pub. South Line 9-1 went on location reporting a working kitchen fire. Doyle 1 Ladder 6 was redirected to South Lines' main hall for fill-in. The fire was under control in about 12 minutes. Level 1 Hazmat: Buffalo Firefighters responded yesterday for a report of a fluid spill at Canisius College. Engine 34 went on location reporting a chloroform spill. Hazmat 1 responded to the scene for the cleanup. August 11, 2008 Working Fire; Orchard Park Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on North Ln. Hillcrest 9-2 went on location reporting a working fire in a 1 1/2 story frame. The fire was under control in about 10 minutes. The cause of the fire was a lightning strike to the D-side of the structure. Working Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Miller St. Engine 22 went on location with heavy smoke showing and fire on the 2nd floor of a 2 1/2 vacant dwelling. Two Firefighters were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The fire was under control in about 21 minutes. Water Rescue: Seneca Hose Firefighters responded last night for a report of 2 victims trapped in the water in Cazenovia Creek on Orchard Park Rd. Seneca Hose 9 went on location with 2 victims in the water and requested the water rescue team be immobilized. Mutual Aid companies that responded were East Seneca, ES-11, Union, Winchester, Reserve, & Vigilant. The victims were rescued in about 50 minutes. Dispatch August 8, 2008 Working Fire: Kenmore Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on Kenmore Ave. Buffalo Fire Engine 36 was returning from a call & alerted dispatch to a working fire and requested Kenmore FD be alerted and stretched a line in. Kenmore 9 went on location reporting smoke showing and requested Ellwood to the scene. Command ordered an emergency evacuation of the building and ordered a defensive attack & requested Brighton & Sheridan Park Ladders to the scene. Kenilworth responded as the FAST team, Brighton also provided fill-in at Kenmores' station, & Buffalo responded with Engine 36, 38, Ladder 13 & B47. The fire was under control in about 90 minutes. Command went on location reporting a mini van on fire. The fire was out in minutes and Amherst PD reported the van as stolen. The cause is listed as arson.
