1 Alarm Fire:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Harmonia St. Engine 31 went on location reporting heavy fire throughout of a 2 1/2 story with an exposure on the #4 side. B-43 reported heavy fire on the 2nd floor and attic, ordered a defensive attack, & requested additional equipment as a precaution bringing Engines 32,33, & Ladder 2 to the scene. The fire was under control in about 36 minutes.

Hy-View Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Anna Marie Terrace. Hy-View 9 went on location reporting a working fire. Command further reported fire in the rear of a 1 story vacant mobile home and requested mutual aid to the scene. Mutual Aid companies were U-Crest (Engine), Forks (Engine & Ladder), Pine Hill (Ladder), CD-132, Depew (Engine & Heavy Rescue), & Bowmansville (fill in @ Hy-View). Clarence 5-1 was on location reporting a 2 car MVA with both cars rolled over on their roofs and heavy extrication required. Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a MVA on the Rte 33 near the Rte 198. B-43 was informed enroute that 1 car came off the Rte 198 overpass & requested an additional Ladder (6) & F-20 to the scene. Engine 33 went on location reporting a 3 to 4 car MVA with no car off the overpass. B-43 reported 2 victims trapped in a vehicle requiring extrication and 4 other patients with injuries and requested 3 ambulances to the scene. Both victims were extricated in about 27 minutes.

Working Fire:
Firefighters from the Eggertsville Hose Company responded to a report of a fire at 151 Alberta Drive in Amherst, NY at 11:08pm on Friday February 20. Firefighters arrived on-scene at 11:09pm to find the single family home fully involved in fire. The Resident was still exiting the house upon arrival. Eggertsville Chief John Buttino reported the fire under control at 11:23pm. Firefighters from the Snyder Fire Department responded as the FAST team. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Lake Shore Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a MVA at Rte 5 & Big Tree Rd. Lake Shore 9-2 was notified enroute that multiple accidents were now being reported in that are. Lake Shore 9-2 went on location reporting a 15-20 car MVA with 1 victim unconcious & requested multiple ambulances to the scene. Mutual Aid companies were Woodlawn, Big Tree, & Newton Abbott.

Emergency Vehicle MVA:
Orchard Park was dispatched yesterday for an EMS call. Orchard Park 9-1 called in responding to the call. Coming to the intersection of Chestnut Ridge Road and Armor Duells a car failed to yield to an emergency vehicle. Minor injuries were reported & both patients transported to hospital.

Plane Crash:
Clarence Center Firefighters responded last night for a report of a plane crash on Long St. Clarence Center 9 went on location reporting a plane down and a house fully involved. Multiple mutual aid companies responded including Clarence, East AMherst, Swormville, Brighton Hazmat, BNIA CFR, LVAC, Twin City, Rural/Metro, Erie County Emergency Services. Reports are that 48 people on board the plane were killed and 1 civilian on the ground was killed.

Millgrove Firefighters responded late this morning for a report of a MVA on Genesee St. Millgrove 9-3 went on location reporting a car vs tractor trailer head on collision with 1 female trapped and trauma injuries. Bowmansville responded mutual aid for traffic control and to assist with the extrication of the victim. The victim was extricated in about 30 minutes.

MVA / Vehicle Fire:
Town of Hamburg Police Lieutenant's witnessed a MVC at the above mentioned intersection around 9:45 last night. While they were notifying dispatch of the MVC the vehicle exploded in to a ball of flames. The police Lieutenant's on scene did not see anyone exit the car so they went over to the vehicle to check for injuries and entrapment while it was on fire. Seeing no movement by the driver in the vehicle, Lt Lavelle made a daring rescue of the burned driver. He fought back flames to pull the badly injured and burned driver out of the vehicle before fire units were on scene. Scranton 9-3 was first on scene and reported a fully involved vehicle in the middle of the intersection. Scranton 9-2 called on scene taking over command and ordered two engines to attack the fire with 1 3/4 hand lines. A third engine was requested from Lake Shore for a water source and additional foam. The foam was used to fuel a pesky fuel leak that continued to fuel the fire. The burn patient was transported to ECMC by RM and a second patient was signed off by Scranton 8.

New Apparatus:
The Sloan Fire Company put their new Rescue 7-1 into service today. It is a 2008 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD with a custom fiberglass rescue body built by the Swab Wagon Company of Elizabethville, PA. Sloan 7-1 will have a full compliment of EMS equipment, including AED. It will also have a portable Holmatro with a combination cutter and spreader. The top of the truck houses backboards and a stokes basket. This truck replaces a 1988 light rescue truck. To view photos Click Here

Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Glenwood Ave. Engine 21 went on location reporting the 2nd floor of a 2 1/2 story frame fully involved with fire through the roof. Snyder responded to a fully involved Motor Vehicle Fire on the Youngmann Eastbound past Sheridan Drive. Snyder 9 and 9-1 were first on the scene, with Engines 1 & 2 and Heavy Rescue 5 arriving seconds later. The vehicle was in the median fully involved, and Snyder firefighters had the fire under control in about twenty minutes. No injuries were reported.

Grand Island Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a MVA on the I-190 Northbound near Stahley Rd. Grand Island 9-3 went on location reporting a rollover MVA with one person trapped and requested a 2nd ambulance to the scene. The victim was extricated in about 26 minutes.

Brant Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Southwestern Blvd. Farnham 9-3 went on location with smoke showing from a 1 story frame. Farnham 9 went on location reporting a confirmed working fire and possibility of people trapped. Mutual Aid companies were Farnham, Angola (Engine), Lake Erie Beach (Engine, Heavy Rescue), Evans Center (FAST), Cattaragus Indian Reservation (fill in @ Farnham), North Collins (fill in @ Brant), Highland Hose (fill in @ Evans Center), & North Evans (stanby in hall to cover).

Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning to investigate smoke on LaSalle Ave. Engine 23 went on location reporting fire in the outside wall on the 2nd floor and requested the balance of the 1st alarm. The fire was under control in about 17 minutes.

Buffalo Firefighters responded yesterday afternoon for a report of an attic fire on Ashland Ave. Engine 19 went on location reporting smoke in the attic. B-56 reported an electrical fire in the floor of the attic. The fire was under control in about 23 minutes.
