Milestone:

The 2008 NYS Drill Champion is the Islip Wolves from Long Island. I will post the standings as soon as they are posted for Main-Transit & other WNY teams

Working Fire:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Welker St. Ladder 6 went on location reporting heavy fire through the roof of a 2 1/2 vacant. The fire was under control in about 17 minutes.

Working Fire:

Main-Transit Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Melrose Rd. Main-Transit 9 went on location reporting heavy fire on the 2nd floor of a 3 story structure. Mutual Aid companies were Harris Hill, Williamsville, Snyder, & Swormville.


Working Fire:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Grant St. B-44 went on location reporting heavy fire showing on the 2nd floor of a 2 1/2 story frame and reports of at least 1 person trapped.

Working Fire:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Fougeron St. Engine 33 went on location with fire showing on the 1st floor of a 2 1/2 story frame. One Firefighter was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The fire was under control in about 34 minutes.

Working Fire:
Brighton Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire on Waverly Rd. Brighton 9 recieved a report enroute that Police were on location reporting fire and smoke showing from the roof of an occupied structure and requested a FAST team to the scene. Command went on location reporting the 2nd floor fully involved. Mutual Aid companies that responded were Sheridan Park (Ladder), Kenilworth (Heavy Rescue), Ellicott Creek (Fill In), & Kenmore (FAST). The fire was under control in about 20 minutes.

2 Alarm Fire:
On August 13th Lackawanna Firefighters responded to a telephone alarm of fire on Olcott St. Command went on location reporting a working fire in a multiple family dwelling and requested a 2nd alarm.

Working Fire:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning to investigate smoke on Navel St. Engine 31 went on location reporting smoke showing from the eaves of a 1 1/2 story dwelling and requested the balance of the 1st alarm. B-43 reported fire on the 1st floor. The fire was under control in about 17 minutes.

MVA /Serious Injuries:
West Falls Firefighters responded last night for a report of a MVA on Knapp Rd. Command went on location reporting a 1 car multiple rollover MVA and requested Mercy Flight to the scene for a female patient

Working Fire:
Grand Island Firefighters responded yesterday for a report if a structure fire on Pleasant Trail. Command went on location reporting smoke showing from a 2 story residential structure. Command further reported fire on the 2nd floor. Mutual Aid was requested from Sheridan Park for their FAST team & City of Tonawanda Firefighters provided fill in with Engine 2. The fire was under control in about 20 minutes.

Level 1 Hazmat:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this afternoon to a report of a Hazmat situation on Donaldson St. B-44 went on location reporting chemicals in the building and requested the upgrade to a Level 1 Hazmat response. The incident was under control in about 60 minutes.

Pedestrian Struck:
Grand Island Firefighters responded today for a report of a pedestrian struck on Baseline Rd. Command went on location reporting 1 victim with serious injuries and requested Mercy Flight to the scene.

Kitchen Fire:
South Line Firefighters responded late last night for a report of a kitchen fire on French Rd at French's Pub. South Line 9-1 went on location reporting a working kitchen fire. Doyle 1 Ladder 6 was redirected to South Lines' main hall for fill-in. The fire was under control in about 12 minutes.

Level 1 Hazmat:
Buffalo Firefighters responded yesterday for a report of a fluid spill at Canisius College. Engine 34 went on location reporting a chloroform spill. Hazmat 1 responded to the scene for the cleanup.

Working Fire;
Orchard Park Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on North Ln. Hillcrest 9-2 went on location reporting a working fire in a 1 1/2 story frame. The fire was under control in about 10 minutes. The cause of the fire was a lightning strike to the D-side of the structure.

Working Fire:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Miller St. Engine 22 went on location with heavy smoke showing and fire on the 2nd floor of a 2 1/2 vacant dwelling. Two Firefighters were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The fire was under control in about 21 minutes.

Water Rescue:
Seneca Hose Firefighters responded last night for a report of 2 victims trapped in the water in Cazenovia Creek on Orchard Park Rd. Seneca Hose 9 went on location with 2 victims in the water and requested the water rescue team be immobilized. Mutual Aid companies that responded were East Seneca, ES-11, Union, Winchester, Reserve, & Vigilant. The victims were rescued in about 50 minutes.
