Working Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Normal Ave. Engine 37 went on location reporting meat on the stove with extension into the walls. The fire was under control in about 8 minutes. Dispatch Working Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on William St. B-43 went on location with smoke showing from a 2 story brick vacant. Defensive operations were in effect due to the structure being unsafe. Fire was reported on the 1st floor. The fire was under control in about 10 minutes. Dispatch Working Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire on Landon St. Engine 33 went on location reporting a working fire in a 2 1/2 stroy vacant with an exposure problem on the #4 side. B-56 ordered an emergency evacuation due to water problems and went to defensive operations. The fire was under control in about 40 minutes Dispatch Gorge Rescue: Gowanda Firefighters responded last night for a report of a person down in the gorge at Zoar Valley. Command went on location with 2 hikers down in the gorge. Crews reached the 2 hikers by helicopter but were unable to make the rescue. Another attempt will be made this morning. June 29, 2008 Water Rescue / Drowning: Buffalo Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a drowning at the Soshone Park pool on Hertel Ave. Ladder 7 went on location reporting a body at the bottom of the pool and requested EMS on a rush. The body was pulled out by Ladder 7 and CPR was started. Last report the boy was fine and will fully recover. Working Fire: East Eden Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on Keller Rd. Command went on location reporting a working kitchen fire. Mutual Aid was provided by Hamburg & Eden. Dispatch Working Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on Peckham St. F-20 went on location reporting a fully involved structure with 2 exposure problems. F-20 further reported both exposures involved. B-56 requested additional equipment bringing Engines 35, 31, & Ladder 10 to the scene for manpower. The fire was under control in about 1 hour. Dispatch Working Fire: Cleveland Hill Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Winwood Ct. Cleveland Hill 9-2 went on location reporting a working fire in the attic of a 2 1/2 story multi-family dwelling. Mutual Aid was provided by U-Crest (1 Engine), Pine Hill (1 Ladder), Snyder (FAST), CD-132, & Rescue (1 Engine) for fill-in at Cleve-Hills' hall. The fire was under control in about 28 minutes. Command went on location reporting a boat adrift with no injuries. The Coast Guard & Erie County Sheriff Boat responded as well. MVA / Serious Injuries: Akron Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a MVA at Hake Rd & Carney Rd. Akron 9-2 went on location reporting a 1 car rollover MVA with a victim ejected and requested Mercy Flight to the scene. LODD: A California Deputy Fire Chief collapses and dies..... The deputy chief of the Southern Marin Fire Protection District collapsed at work and died Thursday as his own firefighters tried desperately to save him. Water Rescue: Akron Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a person in the water at Akron Falls Park. Command reported a female in the water who jumped from the falls and requested Mercy Flight to the scene. Working Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Ohio St. Engine 1 went on location reporting smoke showing in a commercial building. Engine 3 reported a fire in the ceiling. Dispatch June 26, 2008 Pedestrian Struck: Swormville Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a pedestrian struck on Transit Rd. Getzville 9-2 went on location reporting 1 victim with serious injuries and no entrapment. Pedestrian Struck: Doyle Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a pedestrian struck on Kennedy Rd. Doyle 1 9 went on location reporting a child trapped under the car and requested EMS on a rush. The child was extricated in about 8 minutes. Command went on location reporting a motorcycle rider down. The victim passed away this morning from injuries suffered during the crash. June 25, 2008 MVA / Serious Injury: Orchard Park Firefighters responded last night for a report of a MVA involving a motorcycle on Route 20. Orchard Park 9-3 was on location reporting 1 male victim with several compound fractures and requested Mercy Flight to the scene. Working Fire: Buffalo Firefighters responded late last night for a report of a structure fire on Chicago St. B-46 went on location reporting fire on the 1st floor of an apartment in a complex. The fire was under control in about 6 minutes. Firefighter Kevin Pryor passed away Tuesday, June 17 due to a massive inter-cerebral hemorrhage. He was thirty-one years old. Kevin Pryor began his career with the Newport Beach Fire Department in 2005 and served as a dedicated Firefighter for the Department. B-46 reported heavy fire conditions in the front 1st floor with a victim trapped. The victim was removed from the house and later pronounced at a local hospital. MVA: Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a MVA on the Rte 33 Westbound near Humboldt Pkwy. B-43 went on location reporting a vehicle hanging over the edge on fire. Rescue 1 responded to the scene and removed the car from falling. Engine 33 was called tot he scene for a fluid wash down on the Rte 33. An off duty firefighter extricated the victim before fire crews arrived. Dispatch 3 Alarm Fire & Level 1 Hazmat: Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on Niagara St. B-44 went on location reporting smoke showing from a large 2 story warehouse with possible chemicals involved. B-56 requested Engine 3 & Hazmat 1 to the scene and additional equipment (Engines 26, 21, & Ladder 7) to the scene. B-56 requested the balance of the 2nd alarm bringing Engine 3, Ladder 14, B-42, & B-41 to the scene. After 2 hours B-56 transferred command to B-47 and companies were picking up.
