MVA / Person Trapped:
Buffalo Firefighters responded for a MVA at Comstock & Kensington Ave. Engine 23 went on location reporting a 2 car MVA and requested Rescue 1 to the scene for extrication. The victim was extricated in about 19 minutes.

1 Alarm Fire:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Winter St. Engine 37 went on location reporting a working fire in a 2 story frame. B-56 reported heavy fire conditions on the 1st floor of a vacant 2 1/2 story frame.

Buffalo Firefighters responded evening for a report of a structure fire on Orchard Pl. Ladder 7 went on location reporting heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor of a 2 1/2 story. The fire was under control in about 16 minutes.

Scranton Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a MVA at South Park Ave & Sowles Rd. Command went on location reporting a 2 car MVA with 2 fatalities. Big Tree responded mutual aid to the scene.

Fatal 2+ Alarm Fire:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire with a person trapped on Hertel Ave. Engine 26 went on location with fire showing out of the #4 side of a 2 1/2 story frame. Ladder 13 reported an exposure involved and B-47 requested additional equipment bringing Engines 37, 34, & Ladder 14 to the scene. B-47 went on location reporting 3 houses involved, 1 fully involved and requested the balance of the 2nd alarm. B-56 assumed command and requested additional equipment bringing Engine 33, 2, & Ladder 2 to the scene. A victim was found on the 2nd floor of the original fire building and was pronounced at the scene. The fire was under control in about 40 minutes.

Hamburg 9 further reported smoke from the eaves. Mutual Aid companies were Armor (Engine & Heavy Rescue), Scranton (Ladder & Heavy Rescue), North Boston (Engine), Eden (FAST), Newton Abbott (2nd FAST), Lakeview (1 Engine for fill in at Hamburg), Lake Shore (1 Engine for fill in).

MVA / People Trapped:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a pedestrian struck at Sycamore & Monroe St. Engine 3 recieved an update in route that the call was actually for a NFTA bus vs Car MVA. Engine 3 went on location reporting a bus vs car MVA with 5 victims on the bus, 2 victims in the car with serious injuries, requesting several ambulances, & Rescue 1 to the scene to extricate 2 victims in the car. B-43 assumed command and requested Engine 21 for manpower, F-20, & the SMART Team. The victims were extricated in about 38 minutes.

Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a MVA at Hopkins & South Park Ave. B-46 went on location reporting a 1 car MVA car into the building. No serious injuries were reported.

1+ Alarm Fire:
Buffalo Firefighters responded late last night for a report of a structure fire in the area of Skillen & Ontario St. Engine 19 reported smoke showing enroute & Engine 26 went on location reporting a working fire in a building in the junkyard. Once entry was made Engine 26 reported fire showing out of the rear of 1 story brick building and started defensive operations. B-56 reported a partial building collapse and requested additional equipment bringing Engine 2 & 38 to the scene. The fire was under control in about 68 minutes.

Working Fire:
Pine Hill Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Olcott Pl. Pine Hill 9 reported smoke showing from Harlem Road and declared a working fire. Pine Hill 9 went on location and reported a gas line was also ruptured and requested mutual aid to the scene. There were exposure problems on the #2 & #4 sides as well. Command reported the main fire building had collapsed and was leaning onto the #2 exposure. Mutual Aid companies were Rescue (1 Engine), Cleveland Hill (1 Engine), Forks (1 Engine), Snyder (FAST), CD-132, & Sloan (fill in at Pine Hill). The fire was under control in about 1 hour 42 minutes.

Command further reported a fire in a rear addition with heavy smoke from the eaves. Mutual Aid companies were Brighton, Kenmore (FAST), Ellwood, Eggertsville, & Sheridan Park (Fill in at Kenilworth). Buffalo Firefighters responded late last night for a report of a structure fire on Elmwood Ave at SPOT Coffee. Engine 37 went on location reporting smoke showing. B-44 reported a basement fire in a 1 story commercial 80 x 60 building. The fire was under control in about 24 minutes.

Working Fire / Level 1 Hazmat:
Sheridan park Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a chemical leak and possible fire on Fire Tower Dr at FCMT Corporation. Sheridan Park 9-2 went on location reporting smoke showing. 9-2 further reported the smoke was possibly a chemical cloud and was advising that nearby businesses be evacuated. Brighton 9 requested that Clarence Hazmat team be alerted. NITTEC issued an air quality alert to drivers on the I-290 to keep their windows up. The incident was under control in about 2 hours. Multiple mutual aid companies responded. Brighton, Ellwood (FAST), Clarence Hazmat, Eggertsville, Clarence Center (fill in at Clarence), Kenmore, Kenilworth, River Road, Grand Island, & the County Hazmat team was on standby.

Newstead Firefighters responded last night for a report of a MVA on Main Rd. Newstead 9-2 went on location reporting a MVA with the road blocked, 1 victim trapped, and a roof extrication was required. The victim was extricated in about 29 minutes. Clarence Fire Police responded mutual aid to assist with closing Main Rd.

Jamison Road Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a MVA on the Route 44 near the Maple Road exit. Jamison Road 9 went on location requesting Mercy Flight to the scene for 1 victim with injuries. Originally Spring Brook & East Seneca were dispatched to this call. The Route 400 was closed down for Mercy Flight to land for approximately 25 minutes.

Grand Island Firefighters responded this afternoong for a report of a MVA on Whitehaven Rd. Grand Island 9-2 went on location reporting a rollover MVA with 1 person trapped in the vehicle and 1 victim pinned under the car. Grand Island 9 requested mutual aid from Sheridan Park to the scene for extrication. One victim was DOA.

MVA / Trauma:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a MVA at Jefferson Ave & Northhampton St. Ladder 6 went on location with a car into the building and requested Rescue 1 to the scene. Ladder 6 further reported a working trauma code.

South Line Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a roof fire on Industrial Pkwy at Rosina Foods. South Line 9 went on location reporting a fire on the roof from a kitchen fire that extended. Mutual Aid companies were Doyle 1 (Ladder), Twin District, & Forks (fill in @ South Line Station 1). The fire was under control in about 26 minutes.

The victim was pronounced at ECMC and the Route 33 Eastbound was closed for about 2 hours.

First responders will have a new tool to help save more lives in the City of Buffalo.

The File for Life project will provide homes with door decals and refrigerator magnets containing essential medical information about the medical needs of senior citizens.

The information will provide emergency responders with quick medical information when they only have minutes to spare.

Winchester Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a dryer fire on Collins St. Winchester 9 went on location reporting heavy smoke in the basement and requested a FAST team to the scene. Seneca Hose 9-1 reported a dryer fire with fire running up the wall. Mutual Aid companies were Union, Seneca Hose, Reserve (FAST), CD-133, Doyle 2 (fill-in at Winchester). The fire was under control in about 16 minutes.
