4th Annual Erie County Fire Service Joint Legislative Caucus

Erie County's four major fire service organizations, Erie County Vol. Firemen's Assoc., Erie
County Fire Chiefs Mutual Aid Organization, Erie County Fire District Officer's Assoc. and Erie County
Fire Police will hold their 4th annual joint legislative caucus on Saturday August 28, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Woodlawn Fire Department, located at 3281 Lake Shore Road in Blasdell. The purpose of the joint caucus will be to discuss and formulate proposed legislative topics important to each organization which the same time will be beneficial to the entire fire service. The formulation of these topics will then be used at sectional meetings of the statewide fire service organizations to develop a legislative agenda for the coming year.

2010 is an important year since many legislative changes are taking place which affect the fire service. Working together allows the fire service to react to these changes in a unified manner.

All members of the fire service are invited and encouraged to attend as we have invited elected representatives from the Western New York area to join us and participate in the discussion. Several have affirmed their commitment to attend. The goal is to hear directly from members of the fire service and our legislative delegation regarding legislative matters which promotes a broader understanding of the legislative process and advancement of the goals and initiatives of the fire service.
