September is National Preparedness Month
West Seneca Community Emergency Response Team (West Seneca CERT)

The (CERT) program helps train local citizens to be prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities. Training in basic disaster survival and rescue skills that will help improve the ability of citizens to respond to emergencies. CERT members can give critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. CERT members also can help with non-emergency projects that help improve the safety of their community. Receive training in emergency preparedness; fire safety; emergency medical operations; light search and rescue; CERT organization and disaster psychology; terrorism and CERT; course review and participate in a disaster simulation.
Sessions will run Tuesdays and Thursdays starting September 21st and run for seven sessions. Sessions will be held at Vigilant Fire Hall 666 Main Street, (Parking in the rear).
