At 10:45 hrs The Orchard Park Fire Co and Orchard Park EMS were dispatched to Manhattan Bagel on N Buffalo St. Upon arrival they were met by employees and patrons who all complained of symptoms common of CO poisoning. Levels of near 100 ppm were found. In all, seven patients were treated, 5 transported including 1 employee who had gone home sick the day before, and an employee who had been previously transported earlier in the morning with flu like symptoms from that same location. The cause of the CO was reported to be coming from a faulty dryer from the adjoining laundramat. Mutual aid from Windom and Hillcrest fire companies as well. There were no CO detectors in the buildings. An investigation will continue with the OP village building code enforcement officer.
