City of Tonawanda W/F & Hazmat 177 Wales Ave 11/25/09
City of Tonawanda Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a possible fire in a commercial building on Wales Ave. Tonawanda 6 went on location reporting fire showing inside the building on the #4 side. Car 12 assumed command and requested mutual aid to the scene & fill in @ headquarters. Command reported a dumpster fire in the building with magnesium oxide and requested Brighton Hazmat to the scene. Mutual aid companies were Brighton, Sheridan Park, North Tonawanda, Ellwood, Kenilworth, & Grand Island. F-500 foam was used to contain the magnesium fire. Crews are still on location with the DEC at the time of this posting.
