On Tuesday, January 19th. at appoximitly 5:15pm Bowmansville Fire was dispatched to a multi car accident with injuries on Transit Rd, just north of the thruway overpass. When Bowmansville's first unit arrived they found a 5 car accident with a total of 6 patients. One patient was transported by LVAC to a local hospital for injuries and the other 5 were evaluated and signed of with Bowmansville EMS and LVAC. Transit Rd northbound traffic was shut down between Genesee St. and Freeman Dr. for appoximatly an hour. Bowmansville was assisted at the scene by two crews from LVAC and the Hy-view Fire Department provided traffic control. The accident is under investigation by the Lancaster Police Department.
